My work is about the passage of time, human traces, and memory. The aesthetic references the Romantics but also has an element of wabi-sabi: the beauty of imperfect and impermanent objects. I am interested in how images are transformed by the means used to create, preserve or interpret them. In much of my work there is a blurring of traditionally discrete disciplines. I am drawn to low-tech solutions to artistic problems, using handmade pinhole cameras, obsolete photographic processes and relief prints made without a press.
